The Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University just launched her website. Established in 1963, the association is a body that is indivisible, independent, non-political, non-religious, and serves as the umbrella body for registered news agencies, news blogs, and news organizations in Obafemi Awolowo University.
Since its inception, the association has been saddled with the responsibility of educating, enlightening, informing, and entertaining the general public within and outside the university community. Carrying out these tasks over time has been done basically by pasting on boards and subsequently, blogs from different news agencies and it has so far helped in the dissemination of information across the university community and beyond.
However, the current administration figured that it will be best for the association as the umbrella body of all her registered news agencies on campus to have its website for easy access to news, fact-checking news publication and also avail its members the opportunity to work on investigative reports that will be published on the website.
The Executive council, with full support from Media and Career Development Network, owned and managed by Mr Lekan Otufodunrin, took up the task of setting up the website and after many deliberations and reviewing finally launched the website today in her induction ceremony.
The website has been designed in the simplest forms so that our consumers can easily navigate and also have access to our news agencies’ blogs. Therefore, we enjoin the general public within and outside the university community to take a close look into the ACJOAU website and not hesitate to utilize its functions fully.
