The members of the Central Executive Council of the Great IFE Students’ Union have been inaugurated by the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University on Thursday, August 8th. All members of the Students’ Representative Council, and Hall Executive Council were also inaugurated alongside the Central Executive Council.
Speaking at the Inauguration ceremony in Oduduwa Hall, the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire charged members of the Central Executive council of the Students’ Union to strive in order to uphold good values and conduct, while leading the students.

The Speaker of the Students’ Representatives Council, Rt. Honourable Oladapo Olakunle Olajide was sworn-in by the Vice Chancellor. Afterwards, the speaker proceeded to swear-in the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Joshua David, and the Clerk, Honourable Alawode Ewaoluwa. Hon. Oladapo also conducted the swearing-in of the members of the Students Representatives Council, Hall Executive Council, and the Central Executive Council.
The Chief Imam of the University, Prof. Abubakar Abefe Sanusi and The Chaplain of the University, Very Rev. Segun Oyetunde, while speaking, also enjoined the members of the Students’ Union Executive Council to move and lead other students on the right path.
Delivering his speech titled: ‘New Dawn: The Growth of Greatness, the Redefined Pursuit of Excellent Unionism’, the President of the Great Ife Students Union, Omoboriowo Isaac Damilola expressed his gratitude, the University management and other Students’ Union leader for their support. He further emphasized the contribution and efforts of other University Officials towards the education of students, research and development of the University.
Dr Bush outlined the plans of the newly sworn-in administration of the Students’ Union to improve the livelihood of the students, particularly the cleanliness of Halls of Residence and mental initiatives. He noted that unity and proactive problem-solving will enhance the University’s greatness through the collective effort of all members of the Students’ Union.
Present at the event are other officials of the University, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Deans Of Faculties, lecturers, parents and students.
