The Great Ife Students’ Representatives Council has appointed Hon. Justice Abiodun Samuel Adesanya (Lincoln), MC as the Lord Chancellor and Chairman of the Judicial Council of the Great Ife Students’ Union.
The announcement was made in a congress held at Awo cafe on Saturday, November 19, 2022, where he was appointed sequel to Section 55(b) of the union’s constitution.
Abiodun Samuel Adesanya (Lincoln) is a final-year student of Law who doubles as an honourable at the Law Students’ Representative Council (LSRC) at the time of his appointment.
He has served in various capacities both in the faculty, fellowship and indigenous association, testifying to his political acuity and experience.
He served as the President of the Ijebu Students’ Association, ETF Hall Representative, Anglican Students Fellowship, Electoral Secretary, National Association of Ogun State Students and Parliamentarian, and Law Students’ Representative Council from 2017 until he was appointed the Lord Chancellor. He bagged the Best Parliamentarian award of the Law Students’ Representative Council (LSRC) in 2021.
While speaking on his appointment, Hon. Justice Adesanya stated, “Firstly I return all glory to God for this opportunity.
I hold my appointment as the Lord Chancellor as a rare privilege to serve the generality of Great Ife students. I will like to appreciate the leadership of our great union for considering me fit to take up this highly revered responsibility. Special thanks to my fellow Justices as well.
It now behoves me to duly administer and dispense justice for the over 30,000 students of the Great Ife Students’ Union. This I shall do till my very last day in office.
I hereby use this opportunity to seek the cooperation of all stakeholders of the university community with the Judicial Council, as we all contribute our quota to keep raising the standard of Obafemi Awolowo University at this historic time.”
Justice Adewole OluwaSeun politically known as Unique was also appointed from the Faculty of Law alongside the Lord Chancellor.
