Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is home to a wide range of creatives across different art forms, including content creators and skit makers who are already gaining attention in the mainstream. Content creation, however, requires a lot of hard work, innovation of interesting ideas, consistency, and persistence in difficult times where the venture may seem unproductive or unprogressive, due to discouraging engagements on social media or other dispiriting factors.
Marshal Humour, Calmsea, and Slome X are OAU content creators who have embraced these values, demonstrating resilience and commitment to their craft, and equally gaining recognition for their efforts.
Inioluwa Israel (Marshal Humor)
Inioluwa Israel Aderounmu, popularly known as Marshal Humor, is a 400-level Physics student at Obafemi Awolowo University. Marshal started making content in January 2023, drawing inspiration from his childhood experiences and the quest to live a life he wants for himself.

He focuses his content on teenagers, youths, and young adults, aiming to create stories they can relate to, scenarios drawn from experiences they may have lived through themselves. Marshal says his niche lies in doing the unusual and stepping outside conventional norms, drawing inspiration from God, people, everyday activities, and his past experiences.
As stressful as productions may be, Marshal shoots as many skits as possible as he can to aid him in the longrun, whenever he’s opportune to, paying keen attention to the details of every stage and subsequently penning down other ideas as soon as they occur to him.
With several of his contents going viral, he has gained the attention of top personalities such as Olamide, Shankcomics, Folagade Banks, Willy Kanga, and Okikidft. He has also earned from brand deals, advertisements, and partnerships, building a combined following of over 24,000 across his social media platforms.
Marshal’s goal is to make a positive impact on people, hoping they don’t take life hard but embrace every moment with happiness. In achieving this, the skitmaker has done things he says a sane man would not do, such as going bald for content, missing classes, and spending excessively, among other things.
Anagor Kamsiyochukwukosiemeremu (Calmsea)
Anagor Kamsiyochukwukosiemeremu Dora, popularly known as Calmsea, is a dancer and online content creator recognised for her funny and relatable videos. Calmsea, who is now in her final year at the Department of Dramatic Arts, OAU, started making content after gaining admission into the school in 2021.

Before transitioning into creating relatable skits, she always made purely dance videos, which was an interest that developed during the era of dance trends like “Azonto” and “Etighi.” In satisfying her 23k followers across all social media platforms, Calmsea refuses to be caged into any niche, making her explore arts like comedy, dance, acting, and even singing. According to Calmsea, time and resources remain her biggest hurdles, but she pushes on regardless of academic pressure or exhaustion, emphasising her belief that consistency is the key to success in any endeavour.

Adetimehin Solomon (Slome X)
Adetimehin Solomon Oluwapamilerin (Part 3, Department of Dramatic Arts) is another vibrant content creator on campus. Popularly known as Slome X, he has approximately thirty-five thousand followers across his social media accounts.

Slome X began creating content in his first year, driven by his passion for acting and a desire for visibility. He aims to entertain audiences with humorous, engaging skits, drawing inspiration from creators like Gilmore and other mainstream figures while maintaining a distinctive style that sets his work apart.
Similar to other student-content creators, he faces challenges with balancing time for school work and other activities with making content, but still fuels himself with passion and the constant reminder of why he started in the first place.
