The Great Ife Students’ Union on Thursday, 11th December, made a release regarding the price of bus transportation during the convocation. The release read, ‘Due to the blockages of the road and security checks.. Gate to anywhere. On Campus.. Is 500 Anyone who says otherwise kindly take the bike and stop at the Bus stop
Officers are on ground to check.’ The release of increment from the initial price to ₦500 was announced by the Public Relations officer, Oreoluwa Joseph, and signed by the Secretary General, Habeeb Oke and the President, Adelani David.

Shortly after the release was made, the Transportation Management Commission (TMC) released a disclaimer on the release stating there will be no increments from the initial price on transport fees from the gate to campus.
In their statement, the Transport Management Commission of the Great Ife Student Union, which is the duly authorised body responsible for overseeing all commercial vehicles and transportation services under the Union’s purview, addresses the statement made by the student Union that there will be no increment in the prices of transportation.
The TMC categorically state that the Commission has not been involved in, nor aware of, any negotiations or agreements leading to price adjustments for on-campus transportation. The purported ‘new price’ of ₦500 for gate-to-anywhere services, cited due to road blockages and security checks, is entirely false and unsubstantiated. No such changes have been approved or implemented by the commission.
Entry Fee at Campus Gate
Aside from the new development, it should be noted that ACJOAU has earlier reported that a release was made by the management stating that there will be #1000 charges for unapproved vehicles that are entering the campus. The statement was signed by Professor S. A. Adekola. The Committee announced that all vehicles entering the University campus during the event will be required to adhere to a special gate access protocol. According to the notice, vehicles without official University-approved stickers will be required to pay a nominal fee of ₦1,000 (One Thousand Naira only) per day.
