A total of 122 students have been asked to rewrite their first-semester SOC Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations after the Department of Sociology and Anthropology announced new dates for the affected papers.
The affected students include 69 students who offered SOC 101 and 53 students who offered SOC 201. According to separate memoranda signed by the Head of the Department of Sociology, both examinations have been rescheduled for Thursday, 2 July.

The department directed all affected students to visit the Department of Sociology and Anthropology on or before 30 June to confirm the time and venue of their examinations. It was also stated that only students whose names appear on the attached lists would be allowed to retake the rescheduled examinations. Students are expected to present a valid University Identity Card or any other approved means of identification before they can enter the examination venue.
The memoranda further warned that any student who fails to report to the department before the deadline may lose the opportunity to take the rescheduled examinations.
This announcement has come as a surprise to many students because the affected courses were taken during the first semester, while the notices were issued during the tenth week of the second semester, when students are already preparing for another test or examination period.
The memoranda, dated 6 June, did not explain why the examinations were being rescheduled. However, affected students have been advised to complete the required clearance with the department ahead of the examination date.
