Union Shuttle Will Begin Operation By November 6, Uniconne CEO Reveals

The Great Ife Students’ Union in conjunction with Uniconne, a brand with the aim of promoting cross campus student connection has introduced the Union Shuttle Initiative to make sure the semester is filled with better campus experience.

Recall it was earlier reported by ACJOAU, that the Students’ Union unveiled a partnership with Uniconne during the Fresher’s Week Symposium, a brand with the aim of promoting cross campus student connection, unleashing idea exchange and collaboration. The Students’ Union President, Abbas Akinremi Ojo, said the Union is partnering with the brand to see to the fact that transportation prices are reduced on campus, as buses will be made available for students staying off-campus in areas like Oduduwa Estate, Ibadan road etc at subsidized prices compared to the Town-igboro prices.

In a conversation with ACJOAU correspondent, the CEO of Uniconne, John Alalade, answered  some questions as regards the Union shuttle.

How Does Uniconne Seek To Work With The Students’ Union To Make This Union Shuttle Initiative Work?

Uniconne in collaboration with the student Union is able to provide all the Facilities and infrastructure needed to make the Union Shuttle initiative a Success. Our team is dedicated to providing a better campus experience to students and with the help of the current administration of Impeccable impact, we are able to even do this more.

How Will The Union Shuttle Operate?

To access the Union Shuttle bus system, you would need to purchase a Shuttle Card. With the Shuttle Card you are able to board the Union shuttle to the relevant route. Students can purchase more than one Shuttle Card so as to use for different time and trips.

He further stated that the shuttle Card can be purchased at the Students’ Union Building.

How Much Does The Shuttle Card Cost And Is It For Multiple Use Or Another Has To Be Purchased?

The Union Shuttle is designed to be an affordable and comfortable means of transportation for students.

Also the Shuttle card is for one Use, at the point of boarding, students are to provide the shuttle card for remittance.

Will the Union Shuttle Just Be Operative On Campus? 

The Union Shuttle will begin to operate by Monday, November 6, 2023 at the campus gate. Works are being made to go live on Road 7 and Damico.

However, all efforts to reach out to some officers of the Students’ Union which included the President, PRO and Welfare Director as at the time of publication proved abortive.
