The Students’ Union Inter-Faculty Debate is set to kick off on Wednesday, November 22nd as the raffle draw for all faculties to pick their opponents and a faculty getting the Wildcard slot held on Monday, November 20th, at the Students’ Union Building TV Room.

The raffle draw was held for the purpose of pairing faculties with their opponents and a lucky faculty getting a wildcard slot which qualifies them for the final without having to go through the elimination round.
There are 3 groups in general for the elimination stage and each contains 4 faculties debating on the topic, ‘Students Loan Act 2023: A Bridge Or A Barrier To Nigerian Students’.

Group A pits the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (Bridge) against the Faculty of Agriculture (Barrier), and the Faculty of Education (Barrier) against the Faculty of Science (Bridge).
Group B pits Law (Bridge) against Pharmacy (Barrier) and Social Sciences (Bridge) against Administration (Barrier).
For Group C, Faculties of Clinical Sciences and Dentistry were automatically out of the competition due to their absence. Faculty of Environmental Design and Management (Bridge) is up against Faculty of Arts (Barrier).
EFCC Invades Oduduwa Estate, Arrests OAU Students
The Wildcard slot was gotten by Faculty of Technology getting an automatic slot to the semi-finals stage.
The debate is set to kick off on Wednesday, November 22nd. Thereafter, the elimination rounds begin. On Thursday, November 23rd, the elimination round continues, the semifinal round will also be moved into. Alongside this will be side attractions and networking.
OAU Students Hold Candle Night In Honour Of Colleague’s Death
All of these activities are set to take place between 12:00noon to 04:00pm on Wednesday and Thursday and 10:00am to 02:00pm on Friday at the Students Union TV Room
On Friday, November 24th, which is the final day of the competition, the final round takes place. The winners will be announced and presented their prizes, with the winner going home with a cash prize of #50,000, #30,000 for the first runner up and #20,000 for the second runner up.
