The Students’ Representative Council Elections of the Great Ife Students’ Union held on Saturday 29th of June following its postponement by the Electoral Commission from the earlier scheduled day, Friday 28th of June.

The election held across the faculties on campus except the Faculties of Law and Technology as a result of concerns raised by some individuals that the name of some candidates in these affected faculties were included on the ballot paper
Even though the election was scheduled to commence at 10:00 am, it did not start across all faculties till after over 2 hours which the electoral commission chairman, Ogunperi Taofeek attributed the cause to delay in election materials and logistics.
The postponement of the elections in the Faculties of Law and Technology was necessary due to the the concerns raised by these individuals who stated their names were included on the ballot papers. After several back and forth in these faculties, the electoral commission decided not to go on with the election.

As of the time of filing this report, the results of the SRC Elections in eleven faculties have been announced and winners have been declared. These faculties are Administration, Agriculture, Arts, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dentistry, Education, Environmental Design and Management, Pharmacy, Science and Social Sciences.
