President
Olatimehin Esther Boluwatife is a Broadcast Journalist, Content Creator, and leadership enthusiast with a strong passion for storytelling and service. She currently serves as the President of the Association of Campus Journalists at Obafemi Awolowo University, having previously held the positions of Assistant General Secretary and Vice President. A final-year English student, Esther began her media journey in 2021 when she joined the association and launched Great Ife Network, a student news platform that she led as Editor-in-Chief.
Since then, she has progressed through the ranks, assisting in anchoring campus press events, reporting stories, and consistently producing content that resonates. Her bold and creative approach to storytelling earned her the Best News Reporter (Visual) award in 2024, and in 2025, she was honoured as Lifestyle Journalist of the Year. She was also named First Runner-up in the Broadcasting Category at the Campus Journalism Awards hosted by Youth Digest in 2024.
In the same year, Esther was selected as one of 23 women across West Africa for the Empower Women in Media Cohort by the Centre for Journalism, Innovation and Development (CJID). She also became a Millennium Fellow, leading a gender equality project titled Her Future, His Strength. Known for her drive, voice, and commitment to making an impact, Esther continues to use the media space to inform, inspire, and tell real stories.

Mercy Ojegbola
Vice-President
Mercy Ojegbola is a resourceful, young, and compassionate Nigerian. She is a student at Obafemi Awolowo University, where she majors in literature in the Department of English. Her strong belief in self-development and self-motivation has pushed her to explore different aspects of life, such as sports, public speaking, acting, and even music. She has been able to unlock various abilities, some of which are still in progress, while others are almost at their peak. Her burgeoning desire to impact lives and serve humanity as a whole has been her primary motivation to volunteer for and join non-governmental organisations whose mission is to serve humanity.
For Mercy Ojegbola, journalism is a passion. Her commitment earned her the “Most Dedicated Newbie” award in her first year as a member of the Nasels Communication Bureau, followed by appointments as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and now as Production Manager. She is also an active member of the Broadcast Team and currently serves as the Vice President of the Association of Campus Journalists at Obafemi Awolowo University.
Mercy is driven by a passion to tell stories that inform, educate, empower, and spark awareness. This drive fuels her desire to sharpen her storytelling skills, explore new media formats, and grow into a well-rounded journalist. With a strong foundation in broadcast journalism, her area of specialty and deep interest, she continues to develop her presentation abilities and reporting style. Through participation in journalism workshops, conferences, radio tours, and internships, she remains committed to evolving as a dynamic storyteller who leaves a meaningful impact.
Adedoyin Oguntade
Chairman, Guild Of Editors
Adedoyin Oguntade is a final-year student of Literature-in-English. He is genuinely interested in social justice and, by extension, investigative journalism. He has interned with mainstream media platforms, where he has had the opportunity to write investigative reports, feature stories, and solution stories. His work has been published on platforms such as Platform Times Newspaper, Campus Reporter, Ripples Nigeria, Prime Progress, News Digest, and Analytical Reporter, among others.
Adedoyin is also an award-winning campus journalist. During the 2022/2023 academic session, he won awards for Best Features Writer, Best Male Campus Journalist, and Overall Best Campus Journalist. In addition, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Icons Organisation for the 2023/2024 academic session, where he led his agency to win the award for Best News Agency on campus.

Matthew Ogunwale
General Secretary
Ogunwale Matthew, known as The Great Poet, is an award-winning writer and campus journalist. He is currently pursuing a degree in Education and English Language at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife. Ogunwale is dedicated to harnessing the power of words to inform, inspire, and create a meaningful impact in both journalism and education.
He previously served as the Assistant General Secretary of the Association of Campus Journalists at OAU and is currently the General Secretary and a Senior News Reporter for InFocus News Agency. His journey in journalism has opened many doors for him, allowing him to tell important stories and amplify the voices of those who are often unheard. He has received recognition for his contributions and remains committed to growing in this field.
Additionally, he works as a news reporter for The Lagos Voice. Driven by a desire to uphold the truth and promote media literacy, Ogunwale collaborated with Round Check, a youth-led fact-checking organisation dedicated to combating misinformation and disinformation. He has a passion for poetry and creative writing, and his works have been featured in several local and international anthologies.
Before attending OAU, Ogunwale earned a National Diploma in Mass Communication from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. His enthusiasm for teaching and youth development has led him to volunteer with various organisations, such as the Kingdom Teachers Community, where he serves as an Administrator and Personal Assistant to the founder. He also works with AspireHub Nigeria and Canada, mentoring teenagers and young people to pursue their goals with confidence.
Furthermore, Ogunwale is involved with the Live Love Foundation, where he serves as a moderator for Strictly for Teenagers (SFT), a platform dedicated to guiding and nurturing young minds. In his role as an educator, he supports students academically in both English Language and Mass Communication.
At his core, Ogunwale is a believer, a lover of God, and a Bible scholar. Whether he is teaching, writing, reporting, or serving, his aim is simple: to grow, impact lives, and leave a legacy through words and service.

Lawal Olanrewaju
Public Relations Officer
Lawal Usman Olanrewaju, popularly known as SimplyEva, is a final-year student of the Department of Philosophy at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He is an award-winning campus journalist, educator, creative thinker, orator, writer, and a skilled chef with more than six years of culinary experience.
He served as the Editor-in-Chief of NAPS Exclusive Journalism Board, the journalism arm of the Department of Philosophy, where his visionary leadership and transformative impact raised the board’s standards and widened its visibility. Notably, during his tenure, he introduced the board’s first-ever journalism training workshops, aimed at equipping members with practical knowledge and honing their journalistic skills to become resourceful.
In addition, Olanrewaju also served as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of OAU Kilonshele, where he worked closely with the Editor-in-Chief in managing the affairs of the agency. He currently holds the position of Public Relations Officer of the Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University, where he will continue to contribute his skills and creativity in building the Association’s visibility and influence through publicity.
Mercy Olabiyi

Mercy Funmilola Olaniyi is a final-year student in the Department of English. As an active member of the university community, Mercy plays a significant role as a reporter and proofreader for the Nasels Communication Bureau (NCBOAU), demonstrating her strong dedication to journalism and communication. She is also a valued member of the Association of Campus Journalists at OAU, showcasing her leadership potential and passion for media.
Throughout her academic career, Mercy has received multiple distinctions and awards that reflect her talents and commitment to professional development. These include participation certificates from events such as the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies, the NCBOAU Media Workshop, and the Youth Empowerment Programme organised by the Nigerian Bottling Company.
Notably, she has been acknowledged for her exemplary handwriting skills in NCBOAU and has served as ushering head and general secretary at the English Christian Student Fellowship, further emphasising her leadership abilities and commitment to community service. Mercy Olabiyi is also a member of Social Grounds, a non-governmental organisation.
Mercy is proficient in photography, content creation, and cinematography—skills that she actively employs to contribute to various projects, including impactful news coverage on significant issues, such as those reported by Amnesty International, and several other reports. She is also a business owner. Her creative talents position her as a promising figure in the media landscape.

Akano Jesuloba is a 300-level student at Obafemi Awolowo University, studying Information Science and Media Studies. She is a professional writer with a book in progress titled Lost Career and several other projects underway. A seasoned content writer and creator, she is also an advocate for social development and a public speaker. Additionally, she is a Cowrywise Ambassador and has served in various volunteering positions across multiple programmes.

Samuel Faseyitan
Librarian
Samuel Faseyitan, popularly known as Sam Fash, is a freelancer and outstanding student journalist currently in Part 2 of the Communication and Media Studies programme at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). A dedicated member of the Association of Campus Journalists, OAU (ACJOAU), Samuel has made significant contributions through his involvement in various campus press organisations.
He is a former member of Great Ife Network News (GIN) and is currently with the ICONs Organisation News Agency, where he continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to truth, storytelling, and media excellence. He is a member of the Correspondents’ Chapel for the 2023/2024 session, a reporter in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 student union elections, and a member of the Dinner Planning Committee for 2023/24.
In the 2023/2024 academic session, Samuel earned multiple prestigious awards, including Overall Best Journalist, Best Male Journalist, and Best Collaborative Reporter.
His impactful joint investigative report, “Dark, Dangerous, and Neglected: Students Decry Deteriorating Pathway Between Akintola and Fajuyi Halls,” was named Story of the Year (2024)—a testament to his bold, community-centred journalism.
Beyond journalism, Samuel brings a rich background of discipline and order, having served as a two-term librarian prefect in secondary school. This experience fuels his vision for the role of Librarian within ACJOAU, where he seeks to establish a purposeful, accessible, and well-organised information hub. His goals include enriching the association’s library with timely and relevant resources, preserving its intellectual history, and supporting the Secretariat in maintaining archival order.
