The President of the Great IFE Students’ Union, Obafemi Awolowo University, Omoboriowo Damilola was robbed at gunpoint while coming from Abuja to Ife in a commercial bus.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, December 21st at 1:00 am along the Ilesa-Moro highway.
Dr Bush was confirmed to have not sustained any injuries or harm by the robbers, but his phone was stolen and all he had in his bank account was emptied.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Aka Daniel, while speaking with a correspondent of ACJOAU, noted that the president has yet to disclose full details of the incident to any of the executive body, therefore keeping it confidential.
‘Just as we all know aside from being the president of the Students’ Union he has his personal life too. When the incident happened, it was late at midnight. I got to know as early as possible this morning,’ he said.
‘I called him but he said he cannot share with us what happened at the moment because it is not a discussion on the phone. Till now we don’t know what happened. But we know he was robbed at gunpoint. His phone was collected. Money was collected from him too’, he added.
When asked whether the incident was related to any threat from the school environment, the Public Relations Officer confirmed the attack was unrelated to the president’s encounter.
“No! He was not the only one robbed because he was not the only one coming back from Abuja. He took a public bus”, he replied.
