The Great IFE Students’ Union has clarified the press release issued by the Division of Student Affairs on August 27th. Recall that, the circular release from the DSA directed that students should vacate the halls of residence by September 6th. This announcement prompted a meeting between the Students’ Union and the DSA.

Due to the intervention of the Students’ Union, an agreement was reached with the DSA, hinged on that, students engaged in SWEP, SIWES, Teaching Practice, or other mandatory departmental programmes were given additional consideration. The students in this category are to be allowed in the hostels till September 13th.
Meanwhile, in a press release issued by the Students’ Union on Sunday, September 8th, the PRO of the Students’ Union, Aka Daniel clarified that male students currently residing in the male halls of residence are to move to Fajuyi Hall, while female students are to move to Akintola Hall due to security concerns.
The statement also stated that only students who will remain on campus beyond September 13th are required to pay the stipulated charges demanded by the DSA.
Furthermore, students who are to vacate the halls of residents by September 13th will not be required to pay any amount of money, as their clearance does not stipulate payment.
In a conversation with the Public Relations Officer of the Students’ Union, Aka Daniel, he explained that final year students are required to make payments, as indicated on their clearance documents.
