OAU Unveils West Africa Universities Games 2023 Mascot

The Obafemi Awolowo University, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simeon Bamire, alongside the President of the West Africa Universities Sports Federation, Shaibu Tankohas, has unveiled the mascot for the 2023 West Africa Universities Games

Recall it was earlier reported by ACJOAU, that the Obafemi Awolowo University has finalized the arrangement to host the 2023 multi-sport event among student athletes from across West African countries, ‘WAUG’.

The unveiling of the mascot was done yesterday, 13th November, 2023 to formally announce the games which will feature about 200 universities across the West African region and different sports such as table tennis, basketball and athletics, amongst others.

The Vice- Chancellor also assured that adequate plans have been put in place to ensure the safety and welfare of the participants, and ensure the games are hitch-free.
