OAU Management Gives Notice On Diversion Of Roads 1 And 2

The Management of Obafemi Awolowo University, has ordered the diversion of Roads 1 and 2 for rehabilitation.

In a memo made available to ACJOAU signed by Mr K.F. Ejiwumi, Acting Director, Office of the Vice Chancellor, the management said there will be diversion of traffic on Roads 1 and 2 as from Thursday, 3rd August of 2023.

According to the memo, the diversion is due to the rehabilitation of oxidation ponds in the University, in order to upgrade the capacity of the ponds for the sewage seeds of the University community, which is a project that involves a holistic evaluation of the sewer lines connecting to the ponds and rerouting of the lines.

Consequently, towards the completion of the rehabilitation, the memo states that there is need for the excavation to be made on Road 1 from the first Bus Stop through the second Bus stop at the frontage of the Sport Complex and Road 2 from the frontage of CBN project to the Secretariat, necessitating the blockage of vehicular access to the Roads.

The University management however, implore the University community to cooperate with the personnel of the Company handling the project as well as the Security Officers involved in ensuring smooth traffic diversion.
