On Tuesday, 14th of November, the Department of Science and Technology Education, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, lost a lecturer, Dr. Ayo Ojediran to the cold hands of death.

According to reports, the deceased slumped, and was found dead in his office. Upon discovery, he was rushed to the Health Centre of the university where he was confirmed dead.
A senior lecturer in the faculty, admitted the loss on his verified Facebook wall. In his words, ‘The deceased was a nice and humble man to the core. Always willing to help. My namesake, for sure’.

He further prayed saying ‘May God grant us, your students, friends, colleagues, associates, and family members, the fortitude to bear this great loss. May your soul rest in perfect peace’.
Speaking with Akanmu Bukola, a final year student of the department, She expressed her shock upon hearing the news, and said that her colleagues felt the same way. According to her, the deceased lecturer is approachable and understanding, who never intimidates his students. She went on to describe him as someone who is very vocal in class, a man of his words and full of integrity.
Ojo Oluwatosin, a final year student of Arts and Social Science Education, who was also taught by the late lecturer, expressed how deeply the lecturer cared about the students. Oluwatosin was in the library when he first heard the news and couldn’t help but cry and scream. He said, “We will miss our Oga. May his soul rest in perfect peace’.
