The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has conferred the Education Philanthropy Award on Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly. The award was presented at the 7th Annual International Conference of the Faculty of Education, OAU.
The conference, which brought together leading experts and stakeholders from the education sector, was themed ‘Artificial Intelligence and Education in the Global Context.’

Presenting the award, Prof. Adebayo Simeon Bamire, Vice Chancellor of OAU, praised the Speaker for his significant contributions to education and his ongoing efforts to enhance quality learning in Nigeria. Prof. Bamire, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Development, Prof. Akanni Akinyemi, commended Ogundoyin as a young and dynamic leader who has distinguished himself as a notable parliamentarian in Nigeria.

Prof. Bamire also noted that Ogundoyin’s commitment to philanthropy and community development was deeply influenced by his late father, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, a well-known philanthropist and industrialist.
In his response, Speaker Ogundoyin expressed his gratitude, stating that the award would inspire him to further his efforts in education.
‘I am deeply honored to receive this Education Philanthropy Award from the Faculty of Education. This recognition reflects our shared dedication to shaping the future of education in Nigeria’, Ogundoyin said.

Earlier, in her welcome address, Prof. Theodore Bello, Dean of the Faculty of Education, emphasized that the conference aimed to highlight the critical need for the Nigerian education system to adapt to the evolving era of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
