A 20-year-old and 200-level student of the Department of International Relations, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Victoria Adeniji has been crowned the winner of the 2024 Most Beautiful Girl in OAU Beauty and Pageantry Contest.

The Most Beautiful Girl in OAU is an event which started last year. It serves as a platform where ladies in Obafemi Awolowo University, after proper screening and contest get to showcase their beauty and elegance with their talent in front of their audience. The First in position will be ranked and will be crowned as the most beautiful girl on campus.
The Second Edition started around November 2023, when the organizers called out for contestants. With the Official unveiling of the top contestants in January, where each contestant showcased their talent and skill, the event began officially.
Different occasions and competitions went down amongst the contestants like headshot, dance training, model training, camp and rally.
This was to ensure dedication and commitment to their dream and aspirations. They were also expected to be captivated by the audience as they stepped out in their elegance, beauty and charm.
The second edition of MBG OAU tagged ‘Trailblazers Edition’ began its grand finale on the 19th of April with a Trade fair held at Akintola Car Park. Different vendors were present to display their goods for sale.
With 20 contestants who made it to the finals, the winner is set to be crowned the most beautiful girl on campus after the beauty contestants have been properly evaluated by the judges. Each contestant with their beauty and elegance was ready to bring their beauty and charm to the stage.
Victoria, the newest holder of the MBG crown who would go home with the sum of One million naira and other gifts, could not hide her joy and delight after being announced as the overall winner of the contest. She was joined by her friends and supporters to celebrate and rejoice in her victory as the head of the crown.
While running for the contest, Victoria made the reason for her intention to run for the MBG post known to everyone. She said: ‘As a Fashion Enthusiast, I would like to use my fashion influence to empower women as well as children too’.
Deborah Ayodele, emerged as the First runner-up while Stella Chisom emerged as the Second runner-up of the contest. They were to both go home with 300 square meters of land respectively.

Some of the distinguished guests present at the event were The Ọọni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who was represented by His Traditional Secretary, Mr Idowu Salami, Hon. Adekunle you Emmanuel, Hon. Inaolaji Waheed Ibrahim and Nollywood Actor, Yinka Salau.
Recognition awards were also presented to some other contestants such as The Best Dinner Dressed Award to Miss Dada Teniola, The Best Traditional Outfit Dressed to Miss God Favour Adeshina and also The Most Intellectual Contestant presented to Miss Claire Akwuba.

Entertainers within the school community such as BPop, Troy, IBK, Dami Dance, Colour and others were also present to entertain the audience at the grand finale of the contest.
