Fact Check: Is It True That Enitan Subair Was Hospitalized?

STATEMENT

On Monday, 28th of November, a video was posted on the official X app of Punchng showing Subair Enitan, a 200-level student of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, who embarked on a 50 hours Wash-a-thon hospitalized with her hands turned white and wrinkled as a result of the marathon hand washing.

Enitan, who finished her marathon washing at 58 hours from November 24th to 26th, was claimed to be hospitalized after a picture and video of her hand which turned white surfaced on social media.

The tweet from the news outlet went viral and generated many comments from social media users, and even on other social media platforms.

VERIFICATION

Enitan cleared the air in a video posted on her official washathon handle both on Instagram and X app. According to her, she is healthy, while showing her hands but this time, the palms were cleared off of the wrinkle-like flesh. She also noted that she has been with her parents and family after the marathon washing.

A joyous picture of her, her mum and sibling was also shared on the page, where she was gifted a bouquet.

CONCLUSION

The information that Enitan Subair was hospitalized after the Wash-a-thon event is false, as checks on the video show that Enitan is healthy.
