As part of the activities to officially welcome and integrate freshers into the faculty, the Faculty of Education Freshers Week kick-started with a fitness walk which took place on the 13th of January.

A major part of the fresher’s week is an inter-departmental debate which took place on the 16th of January, on the topic, Digital Skills, Inclusive of Education or Independent of Education. The inter-departmental debate took place in SUB TV Room, had Olugbade Majeed, one of the judges, MercyPraise Ninan, the panel of judges and Ogunba Ademiposi, the Chairman of the Ifelaw Debate Committee seated.
The departments which took part in the department are Science and Technology Education, Kinesiology Health Education and Recreation, Educational Foundation Counseling, Arts and Social Science Education and Institute of Education.

Infocus news agency reports that Olusegun Grace Precious, the representative for Art and Social Science Education (ASE), emerged as the winner, captivating the audience with her brilliant arguments, persuasive rhetoric and profound insights.
Throughout the rounds, Grace captivated the audience and judges with her articulate delivery backed by research. Her ability to think on her feet and respond to counterarguments effectively set her apart from the other participants. The judges praised Grace for her clarity of thought, logical reasoning, and effective communication skills.

Speaking to, the Public Relations Officer of the Education Students Association of Nigeria, Adegoke Adesanmi, he said his intention for picking such a topic for the debate was to stimulate the intellectual process in the debaters for the debate.
‘All the topics were drawn from events and happenings from both the local and the international stages’. He said. He spoke on the purpose they hope to achieve in organizing a debate for the freshers as the skill of oratory and debating being something that ought to be encouraged. The debate was aimed at seeking new talents to look out for soon.
