The Students’ Union Welfare Director, Busari Samuel Timilehin has announced the suspension of commercial activities particularly Point of Sales at the Students’ Union Building, as effective from tomorrow.
The suspension of the commercial activities came shortly after the inauguration of the 2023/2024 Students’ Union Officers. The Students’ Union Welfare Director, Busari Samuel Timilehin told correspondent of ACJOAU that the attention of the Students’ Union officers, was called to the extortive charges placed on purchase of goods and services at the Students’ Union Building by the vendors.

He noted that the Students’ Union has been prompted to institute reformative policies in order to regulate the prices of the goods and services being sold and purchased at the Students’ Union building.
Busari Timilehin stated that the suspension of the vendors and commercial activities at the Students’ Union building is to unify, stanilize, and regulate the price of goods and service within OAU campus.

The letter to the vendors stated that, “In lieu of this, your activities within the Students’ Building will be suspended till further notice. The suspension will take effect from tomorrow, 9th of August, 2024.
“Meanwhile, the office of the Welfare director will be opened for further negotiation and concrete agreement by 9am prompt on the set date. In your own interest, you are not expected to open your stand/shop until a compromise has been reached with the appropriate authority.” it added.
